Market Performance: United States

The index used is the Standard & Poor's 500 Composite Index, a broad measure of the US equity market, which reflects the performance of the 500 largest quoted companies in the US.

The index used is the MSCI Europe (excluding UK) Index, which reflects the performance of equity markets across continental Europe, weighted according to their relative size.

The index used is the FTSE-Actuaries All Share Index, which measures the performance of the largest quoted companies in the UK, a basket of approximately 800 companies.

The index used is the Tokyo Stock Exchange (First Section) Index, which measures the performance of Japan's largest 1,291 companies, and is widely regarded as the broad measure of the Japanese equity market.
